So...

I broke the corner off my right, upper first molar (can't remember the number/names dentists give any tooth, but I used to know exactly which tooth they were talking about by the number... that's how much I've seen dentists in my life) while eating these guys. They are essentially made like Pringles, out of a paste made from potatoes then put through a machine that makes it into a tube which is then cut into sections, fried, then seasoned.

The chunk of tooth pretty much spans the whole corner, right down to the gum. Fun.

Luckily, it doesn't hurt... much... now. And by doesn't hurt much, I mean, it gives me the mildest of throbs occasionally. Just enough for me to go... does it hurt? Wait, no, not any more? I think? No, I'm good.

It's also on the palate side of the tooth, so that the chip isn't visible, but it's sharp and I have a slight lisp from holding my tongue funny so that I don't accidentally cut it on the edges of the chip.

So it doesn't really hurt now, but I will have to go to the dentist (an unexpected expense... though it shouldn't be too bad, because I'm insured, and will have to pay the once-a-year deductible of $25 plus 10% of whatever the job will be, whether it's going to be a filling OR an extraction won't be clear until I see the dentist... hopefully, it won't involve a root canal treatment, as that would be the most expensive of all options, but I suspect the chip is too close to the pulp, so... I think I won't have such luck).
