Been quiet on here...

serendipity8791I was really ill Thursday, some sort of gastroenteritis, probably viral, as it seems I wasn't the only person to come down with it last week, at the office. I had a fever of 102 F (can't be arsed to check what it is in celcius, but that was probably around or close to 39 C), intense intestinal issues and two bouts of really intense nausea that made the emetophobe in me really really unhappy.
I was still sort of sick on Friday, but managed to get my butt into work anyway. I was very unproductive, but at least I got some stuff done.
I was much better (and a ravenous beast, omg I could have eaten everything in sight, after 50 hours with almost nothing in my system save a couple pieces of toasted bread and a danish, and lots of liquids) on Saturday. I bought a BRAND NEW SYSTEM, which my friend A, who is Dagda's roommate is going to be putting together for me. So that I can play Ghostbusters: The Video Game on my home computer. I am not obsessed, okay? Well... maybe a little.
Fine. It's my newest fandom, of course I love it.
And I managed to find a copy of the TokyoPop not-a-manga manga-styled comic Ghostbusters: Ghost Busted at the comic shop beside where I bought the parts for my new computer. With Chrissy Delk's art in the last chapter. She's awesome, though she makes the boys look like they're... well, Ray looks about 12 years old in most panels, and Egon looks 14-15 years old in most... Peter's got scruff on his chin and Winston's got a mustache, so you know they aren't children anymore, but yeah. Her style is still completely adorable and kills me with squee.
I would post a sample of her work, but I'm not sure how to make a cut on here... have got to look that up, actually.
Today, Mom and I went with my Dad to look at how to get to where we'll be stationed for our volunteering shifts for an activity he's got planned for 03 October. Then we went to this diner I grew up eating at for poutines and other greasy spoon fare. Then we came home in time for my intestinal issues to kick in again. Because cheese this soon after an intestinal bug... not a good idea.
Tomorrow is probably going to be some vegging out, probably starting my 2nd read of the Ghostbusters novelization and taking notes, or starting to re-read the Wicca 101 textbook as put together by our trad, because I may be giving that course for 9 weeks starting on 13 September. Though we may be postponed for teaching, my co-teacher and I, because only about 10 out of the 15 applicants have replied that yes, they will attend, in which case, they will be merged into the same group. Oh well. But I still need to get ready in case they all reply close to last minute and they get split up into two groups again.
