ARGH!

It appears my building has not escaped Montreal's current trend in apartment building issues.

We have bedbugs! Well, two of my neigbours on my floor have confirmed cases in their units.

I need to take a look at my mattress and all that jazz when I get home tonight.

*insert lame joke about a roach on 12th and needing a certain group of "exterminators" to get rid of the problem*

Update...

I realized that I have yet to have been bitten by the bed nasties.

Until then, I can't deny or confirm whether I have some of the buggers in my apartment. Even if I see insects in my bed, it's not necessarily bed bugs.

Which, by the way, I have not seen them, either.

I have, however, had a chat with the building's manager. He agrees with me that, if there are, indeed, bed bug cases, the whole building needs to get treated. Oh, and, lookie, while he had heard nothing about bed bugs, he knew the building's owners were planning on having the place looked at and treated by an exterminator when they come back from vacation.

Which, to me, either means they were aware some of my neighbours were having problems, which is why they were provided with the number of an exterminator, for the meantime, or since the problem is getting more and more widespread in Montreal, they were going to have a preventive treatment done on our apartments.

Either way, Charlie-bird needs to be moved to my mother's prior to an exterminator doing his job in here, because if the chemicals are not so good for humans, they would be deadly for pet birds.
