NO MORE PAIN!
Oct. 5th, 2010 12:19 pmOr at least, the worst of it is over.
I went to the dentist, and they took an x-ray to see how bad the cavity was. Turned out that the bugger was actually not only between the teeth, but it had spread to cover the whole surface underneath the many years old filling!
The only thing to do? Root canal. Yay?
So the dentist did the preliminary work on it, drilling into the canals and scraping out the nerves and pulp, then filled the canals up with antiseptic and acid (I understand the word "hydroxide" I'm no dumbass when it comes to chemistry), and put a temporary filling over it. I am to go back in a week to finish the procedure.
I love having decent dental coverage! Yay!
I also totally get the "root canal" reference from Little Shop of Horrors, now. It does feel like someone's thrusting in there when they scrape the pulp and nerves out.
