Next weekend will be spent cleaning out stuff. I have too much shit.
Way, way too much shit. I think I'll start with either the bathroom or the bedroom then work my way from there. I'll keep the second bedroom (which is a storage room, for now) for last.
There are beauty products I bought and never use anymore, clothes that don't fit anymore that take up space that could be taken by stuff that actually fits me, stuff that was given to me by my mother that I don't ever remember her using and that I have never used that date back to... her getting them as wedding gifts when she married my father in 1971. *headdesk*
I really need to simplify my life first, then start replacing shit that is so old it's no longer useful.
I need better quality pans and cooking utensils, among other things. I have some pots, including a tiny saucepan, a medium pot and a large pot (in which I make large, long cooking things, like vegetarian chili and tomato/pasta sauce), but often, this doesn't seem like enough. And I have sucky, cheap frying pans, except for my paternal grandmother's deep cast iron skillet. I, however, am cooking for one, for now, so this should not really matter that much.
I need to do a cupboard overload as well, and toss out any canned foods that have been in there for way too long. I need to get rid of crappy-brand stuff like the soy sauce in my fridge (urgh, VH...) or at least keep it to use when I make stuff like peppersteak portabella mushrooms, for the sauce, or onion soup, to darken and salt the broth.
So, while I do want to make room for other stuff in my home, I also want to attempt and simplify my life. Eventually, I'll also need to replace some, if not most, of my furniture. I have all second-hand stuff, though my bed was relatively new when my parents gave me it, and it would be nice to have new stuff for once. My mother still insists on helping me find second-hand stuff, like it doesn't matter, but I'm 32 freaking years old, don't you think I deserve better than second-hand furniture, for once?
