30 Things Meme, Day 4
Sep. 18th, 2010 11:19 am4) What is your ideal meal?
That's very hard to say. Ideal meal, mmmh.
I prefer meals that have loads of vegetables in them. I love my dark leafy greens (kale, broccoli, brussels sprouts), string beans, beetroot, mushrooms, oven-roasted mix of potatoes, carrots and rutabaga. I also love vegetable stir-frys with colourful bell peppers, carrots, celery, broccoli, mushrooms, string beans and onions.
Fill up at least half my plate with veggies and I'm in heaven.
If I could still eat fish and seafood, it would probably include garlic butter shrimp. Despite wanting to go vegetarian, I still love shrimp. I just can't eat it, because "that would be bad", as the gentleman in my icon would put it.
As a grain, probably some whole grain rice/brown rice. I love brown rice with a passion, I just think it's a pain to cook it. Which is why I don't eat it half as often as white.
Now, because I would like to start thinking this way, due to going back to transitioning, here is a vegetarian option for the protein, and a change for the grain. Half a plateful of vegetables, red-curry chickpeas and whole wheat couscous. Mmmmh... Probably starting the meal with the lentil soup I had at this café about a year ago that was rich, filling, creamy and cabbage-y (I suspect it had broccoli in it).
