Who can tell me where this quote is from, because I really don't think it comes from Billy's mind... (Not that he can't be deep, I just think I might have seen this somewhere else, before.) It's from the Bio page on bb.net.

And why does everything that makes me sure I can make it into filmmaking come from something related to Billy Boyd? You know he'll have a special thanks at the end of my film once I make it, right? I might even try to see if I can ship a copy to him.

No, the answer that turns up the most often on Google is Billy Boyd.

Although, by clicking on some of those pages, I get the feeling it's people who lifted the quote from bb.net and automatically assumed it's from Billy.

My instincts say that "Chinese proverb" is the correct one.
