So, last cycle, I checked the calendar and realized that I am going to be menstruating when we go camping in July. Oh, joy. Except for the fact that that is sarcasm.

I'm known for getting insanely crampy, where I can't wear tampons, because they exacerbate the cramping, plus, I never stop feeling them. But camping with pads won't be pleasant, I know this.

So... I decided to purchase and try a menstrual cup. I bought a run-of-the-mill Diva Cup at the pharmacy, and tried it for the last two days of my last cycle.

The good news, it did not exacerbate my end-of-cycle cramps, in fact, they were milder (hopefully, the cup, due to a slight suction action, will also help with the first heavy day cramps too), and I did not feel it at all when it was inserted correctly, and barely when it's at an odd angle. In fact, I didn't feel like I was on my period at all.

Inserting and removing/dumping the contents/cleaning it have not been half the bloodbath I was expecting. The first time I cleaned it out, I was all O_o "That's it?"

And it has somewhat transformed me into a menstruation-positive person. Who is looking forward to next month's cycle, just to get to see how it works for the whole duration. I am excited to shed my uterine lining, people!

I will almost be disappointed if I am not menstruating while camping, after all, whether that's because I'm pregnant, or because it decides to shift.

I'm just weird!
