So excited!
September can't come too fast, but I'm still super excited about IDW's Ghostbusters series!
I'm having random squee moments about it at the most random times.
That's in between the rest of my squee moments about the upcoming DH part 2, and The Hobbit. OMG the Hobbit! And Andy Serkis is starting to look like Peter Jackson, wild hair, beard and all! :D I guess that's what happens when you're second unit director on a Jackson production? LOL!
And then, Dan Aykroyd adds to my squee, by joking around about hunting down Bill Murray, whether it was just to see an old friend or to try to twist is arm over the Ghostbusters III issue is up for debate, but even if he meant it as a joke, it's still hilarious.

I, somehow, managed to trudge through 2/3 of the Silmarillion but didn't get past the Dwarves arriving at Bag End, LOL. That's actually pretty funny, when you think about it.

I think I've read about as much of The Silmarillion as you have... You could totally give The Hobbit another go, though, it's not bad. I think everybody agrees the Gollum scenes steal the show, even from the dragon and the big battle - though this may not be the case with the film version.

The Gollum scenes have their importance (I skimmed through those in the book), but the movies will probably be a lot more about the actual story of The Hobbit (all additional materials shoved aside, of course) than the Finding of the Ring. Oh, and scenery porn, of course. You can't have a Tolkien movie made by Peter Jackson and shot in New Zealand without scenery porn.

And I really want to get "All that is gold does not glitter; Not all those who wander are lost" tattooed somewhere. Not the whole poem, but those two lines in particular. I think they sum up an ideal of life that I really would like to adhere to.
