If you were forced to move to another country, where would you go, and why? Would you look forward to your new life, or would you resist it as much as you could?
New Zealand, because it's very gorgeous and clean and they're very eco-conscious there, and I have been wanting to move there since 1996. Everything is pretty close to the ocean, it's very British, and it's a relatively new country, in itself, so it would be interesting. Also, it's only a couple hours away by plane from my stepsister, who lives in Australia. I would look forward to it to the point of making myself ill, really.
You're being sent to a South Pacific island for the rest of your life, and you're only allowed to bring ten CDs with you. Which ten do you bring, and what is the significance to you of each one?
1.) FOTR Soundtrack: No matter how many times I listen to it, I still want to listen to it more and more. I can just SEE the movie happening, and hear the dialogue over most of the pieces, and it's just so incredibly beautiful.
2.) TTT Soundtrack: Please see above.
3.) Enya - A Day Without Rain: Enya always amazes me, and her music would always remain pretty actual, and, again, I keep wanting to listen to it more and more.
4.) Various Artists on all texts by Patricia Monaghan - Seasons Of The Witch: As a Wiccan, this one has a very deep emotional and spiritual connection to me. The texts are beautiful, the music is even more beautiful. It would also serve as meditation and ritual music. So it's really double purpose.
5.) Christina Aguilera - Stripped: Just because she goes through just about all emotions on that album, and it would be a great CD to have around for certain moments. It's also jam-packed with empowering lyrics for women and you really need to learn to read between the lines on a lot of them, but it's just great.
6.) Backstreet Boys - Black & Blue: Another one that I will never cease to love, no matter how many times I listen to it. They even have an eco-conscious song on it!
7.) Backstreet Boys - Millennium: Their first more adult sounding album. I still love all of it. The first ever album I bought, of any artist, where I loved all the songs...
8.) Boomkatalog One - Boomkat: It's my newest obsession, so, of course I want it with me! That's the only reason *grins*.
9.) L'Album Du Peuple, Tome 5: La Poursuite - Francois Perusse: It's a humour CD, and I never tire of it.
10.) Lethal - Infini-T: Mainly because these girls are friends of a friend, and I adore them. *smooches to Sylver, Lee and Katia*
Some people bury themselves in their work, others turn to food, some even force themselves to smile and pretend everything is OK. What are your coping mechanisms when things in your life aren't good? How did these develop?
Coping Mechanism #1: La La La Hobbits: It developped mainly through fandoms, heee.
Coping Mechanism #2: Writing: I exorcise everything by writing a piece of fiction. Usually, it ends up being crappy if I feel crappy, but heh, if it feels good, do it, I say.
Coping Mechanism #3: Watching anything remotely funny: LOTR DVD Extras or listening to the Commentaries, or watching a good comedy, that's always good. Laughter is good.
